Surf Frog and the Inland Wave

The Paddle Frogs crew found themselves far from any ocean, deep within the rolling hills of Tennessee. Lady Frog, however, had heard whispers of a legendary "inland wave" – a unique phenomenon said to occur when a particular alignment of the sun and a certain waterfall created a fleeting, rideable surge of water.

Intrigued, they followed the clues, and there, nestled amidst the lush greenery, was the waterfall, cascading down moss-covered rocks into a clear pool. As the sun reached its zenith, a shimmering wave, unlike anything they had ever seen, briefly formed at the pool's edge, its surface reflecting the surrounding flowers in a vibrant display.

Suddenly, a figure emerged, riding this ephemeral wave with joyous abandon. It was a frog, perched effortlessly on a surfboard adorned with colorful blossoms, a wide grin on his face. This was Surf Frog.

He rode the short-lived wave with incredible skill, carving smooth turns and even catching a small, watery barrel before the wave dissipated back into the pool. He hopped off his board, his energy infectious.

"Cowabunga, dudes!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with the stoke of the ride. "That was epic!" He noticed the Paddle Frogs. "Hey there! You dig the wave?"

Lady Frog, though surprised, couldn't help but smile. "An inland wave… and a surfing frog. This is unexpected."

Surf Frog grinned, holding up his "Surf Frog" pintail longboard, which seemed perfectly suited for gliding on any surface, not just water. "Life's full of surprises, man! You just gotta be ready to catch the wave, wherever it pops up!"

He then proceeded to "surf" the grassy slopes around the pool, his longboard flowing beneath him with surprising agility. He even convinced a hesitant Chipmunk to try, offering encouragement and a patient paw.

Surf Frog’s infectious enthusiasm and his ability to find joy and adventure in unexpected places resonated with the crew. He embodied a spirit of embracing new experiences, even when they seemed improbable.

His carefree attitude brought a verse to Balanced Bennie’s mind:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

While the "inland wave" was an unexpected phenomenon, Surf Frog embraced it with trust and joy. His willingness to try something new and find exhilaration in an unusual place mirrored the idea of trusting in a path that might not always be clear or conventional. The "Surf Frog" longboard became a symbol of this open-hearted approach to life's unexpected waves, encouraging them to step out and enjoy the ride, wherever it might lead.
