The Devil (or so "Casey" Jones called it)

Felix "Casey Jones (1890-1962) tramped the hills and mountains near his home in Clinchport, VA., searching for unusual formations in stone and wood. He found hundreds of strange things, but his all-time favorite was "The Devil". It is a natural formation from a walnut tree, and Casey added only the eyes and a set of horse's teeth in its mouth.

Casey, a devoutly religious man, veteran of several WWI battles, and a former school teacher, carried the mail for 35 years in the rural section of S.W. Virginia - near the Tennessee line.
